Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Schemers groups.
Fans can look forward to learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
